When Can I Afford to Retire?

When Can I Afford to Retire?  No PD credit; snacks provided.  Presented by NEA member Benefits Representative Guy Kendall-Freas, this workshop aims to increase members’ awareness of their retirement system, their pension payout options, health care costs and more.  Participants will be able to determine if they are on the right track in their retirement preparations and, if not, what their options are, including sheltering severance pay and purchasable service credit options.  An overview of how the Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provisions (GPO/WEP) affect social security will also be provided. Wednesday, October 17, 4:30-6 p.m.




Full Diversity Training (Modules 1-4)

Diversity. Seven hours PD credit; breakfast provided (8:00-8:30 am); lunch provided.  This full training (Modules 1-4) was developed by the National Education Association; topics covered include core beliefs and how they shape your interactions with others, strategies for handling hot buttons, and social justice.
